You can factor to find complicated zeros using synthetic division. The degree is usually equal to the number of zeros. It does not always tell us the number of factors because factors can repeat, there can be 4 zeros but two of them are both 2 so therefore there are 3 factors.

They are similar because they each have symmetry and can both use negatives to help solve to find out if functions are even or odd. They are different because they have their own kind of symmetry, y-axis symmetry and origin symmetry. To find out which is which, one uses (-x, f(x)), and the other uses (-x, -f(x)). I don't think so, they can be proven to be neither. I have a question, what is your 2nd favorite color?
